Bartlesville firefighters supported one of their own by shaving their heads in recognition of Cancer Awareness Month in October.

Bartlesville firefighters supported one of their own by shaving their heads in recognition of Cancer Awareness Month in October.

Capt. David Topping said the effort has special meaning as fellow firefighter Jeremy Shadwick undergoes treatment for cancer.

"As a show of support, several members including a few chiefs and City Councilor Eddie Mason shaved their heads to let Jeremy know that we are behind him 100 percent," Topping said late Saturday.
