New Event Center Overlooking Skiatook Lake Planned

A new place to tie the knot is coming to Green Country. It's a nearly $2-million development at Cross Timbers Marina.

Texas-based "Spring Events" plans to build a brand new event center overlooking Skiatook Lake.

The 72,000 square foot building will host mostly weddings - but can also be used for other events.

Spring Events has similar venues in Texas. The owner says it only took him a few minutes to know he'd found the right spot to expand into Oklahoma.

"This is going to be our prettiest place. Our other places are very pretty also, we have the trees and everything, but we don't have the lake and this is a natural," said Larry Kruzie.

Work on the development begins in February 2014.
