TPS Schedules Community Forum On Future Use Of Barnard School Site

Tulsa Public Schools has scheduled a community forum next month to discuss the possible sale of the Barnard School property at 17th Street and Lewis Avenue.

The school district is considering a $1.005,000 offer from Lindsay Development for the site.

Last week, the district announced it had received five proposals ranging from $421,000 to $1.5 million for the Barnard School land.

A committee reviewed the five bids and recommended the school district pursue the Lindsay Development's bid calling for 18 single family residential lots.

The October 3 forum at the Education Service Center at 3027 South New Haven is set to begin at 6 p.m.

School officials say the forum will allow neighbors to meet with representatives from the development company and TPS.

The district's Board of Education is expected to make a decision on the sale sometime in October.
