A Copan woman is charged with child neglect, accused of smoking methamphetamine in presence of a 14-month-old child.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed in the case, Anita Tate, 39, was arrested at a Bartlesville hospital emergency room. Deputies say the child had been brought there due to a possible allergic reaction.
In the affidavit, a doctor stated results of a blood test showed the presence of meth in the toddler's system.
When asked by a Washington County Sheriff's deputy, Tate admitted using meth, stating "I smoke it, I know I'm white trash."
Tate was also charged with possession of marijuana.
The affidavit says as Tate was being booked into jail, a deputy found a small bag containing marijuana tucked inside Tate's underwear.
Bond was set at $50,000 with a court appearance set for October 18.
