Inductees in this year's Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame class include an iconic songwriter, a Christian music superstar and a Tulsa landmark.
The legendary Sandi Patty headlines the 2013 class, along with Grammy winner Jimmy Webb, who wrote the hits "Up, Up and Away," "Wichita Lineman" and "MacArthur Park."
Opera singer and 2013 inductee Barbara McAlister stressed the importance of music.
"And all music is important; it's a universal language, and I am just honored to be a part of it," she said.
The hall is moving its October induction concert to Tulsa's Mabee Center.
The south Tulsa arena's legacy of hosting huge acts has earned it a spot in the Hall of Fame as well.
