Police have released surveillance footage from the EZ Mart at 37th and Memorial, which was robbed early Monday morning.

The clerk told officers a man came to the front door after closing time and started banging on the door, yelling that he needed the police. The clerk said he opened the door and two men entered.

Police say one of the men told the clerk he had a gun, then hit the clerk over the head, knocking him down.

The video shows one suspect in a beige cap attempting and failing to open the cash register, before attempting to remove it from the counter altogether. When he was unsuccessful, he started taking cigarettes from behind the counter.
