A customer at a Tulsa QuikTrip store tried to help police track down three robbers who attacked a female clerk early Tuesday.

Tulsa Police say it happened at 3 a.m. at a store near 21st and Memorial.

Officers said two men and a woman grabbed two cases of beer and were walking out when the clerk asked if they were going to pay. Police said the two men assaulted her then ran out of the store.

A customer who witnessed the incident followed the robbers' car to near 15th and 75th East Avenue and called police. Officers said the three got out of the car and ran away leaving the beer and a cellphone behind.

Police said the clerk suffered only minor injuries in the assault.
