Rogers County Commissioners are asking voters to return to the polls on Tuesday, August 13.
This is for the renewal of their existing 1 percent county road tax.
County Commissioner Kirt Thacker tells News On 6 their recent sales tax election had to be thrown out over a technicality. The voters approved the tax on that occasion.
He said a state law required the election notice to be placed in the local newspaper several weeks prior to the election—and that didn't happen this time around.
"This was a new vote because of a technicality that happened with a 1910 state law because a publication wasn't published properly so we had to have a new vote," Thacker said.

Thacker says the tax accounts for $6 million for the county road department.
The $6 million is spread throughout the county's three commission districts for road improvements.
Rogers County Commissioners say this money is important and has made the county one of the fastest growing counties in the state.
The tax initially went into effect in 1988. It has to be voted on/renewed every five years.
