It may have taken them a while, but the Drillers finally got the bats going Thursday night in a 4-2 win over the Midland RockHounds.
The Hounds got on the board early as Conner Crumbliss bopped his eighth homer of the year to lead off the first inning. Max Muncy hit his first of the season to lead off the fifth, increasing Midland's lead to 2-0.
But while it took the Drillers six innings to get going, they wasted no time once the inning arrived. Delta Cleary led off with a walk, while Tyler Kuhn followed that with a single. Next up was Cristhian Adames, who slapped an RBI single to get Tulsa on the board.
Kyle Parker's sacrifice fly evened the game at 2-2, and Kiel Roling's single put two on base with just one out. Angelys Nina then singled on a ground ball to right to chase home Adames, and the inning was capped by Joey Wong's sacrifice fly to make it 4-2.
Christian Bergman allowed two runs in seven innings to earn the win for Tulsa. Zach Neal allowed four runs in seven innings and took the loss. Cole White shut the door in the ninth to earn the save.
