A one-way street in downtown Tulsa was switched to two-way traffic starting Wednesday.
The City of Tulsa says traffic signals and signs were added, and striping was changed on Main Street between 7th and 10th Streets to accommodate two northbound lanes and two southbound lanes.
Officials said downtown business owners had requested the change, citing economic development issues.
Officials say the project cost $79,278 and it took workers two and a half weeks to complete the conversion.
About a year ago, Main Street between 6th and 7th Streets was switched to two-way traffic.
Officials add while additional downtown one-way streets have been identified, none are scheduled to be switched to two-way traffic in the near future.
