A car swerving to avoid tree debris on northbound Highway 169 near Pine caused a chain reaction wreck Monday afternoon.
The four-vehicle wreck closed down the highway for over two hours.
Police say they had several calls from motorists about tree debris in the highway and were responding to those calls when the wreck took place.
The driver of a red Taurus swerved to avoid the debris, striking a tanker which then hit a pickup truck. The pickup forced a dump truck into the guard rail. The dump truck driver told police his load shifted and the truck overturned.
The dump truck blocked several northbound lanes.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says northbound traffic is being diverted off at Pine.
Police say the driver of the Taurus was cited for failing to maintain a safe speed. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The pickup truck driver was taken by private vehicle to be treated for minor injuries. The dump truck driver had a cut to his head but refused treatment at the scene.
An officer at the scene told News On 6 that drivers need to use caution around town and watch for green waste debris following last week's storm.
