One lane of northbound Highway 169 is closed near 56th Street North following a collision. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation urges drivers to avoid the area as long delays are expected.

Authorities say a semi rear-ended a box truck then caught on fire. Five vehicles in all were involved in the crash that took place at about 11:30 a.m.

The highway is narrowed at that spot for bridge inspections at Bird Creek. Tulsa police say the semi driver was at fault for not realizing the truck in front of him had slowed down.

There were no serious injuries reported. EMSA checked out a child that was in one of the vehicles but didn't believe they would be taking the child to the hospital.

The northbound on-ramp from 56th Street North is also scheduled to be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday for the inspections.
