The Tulsa Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire in a vacant office building late Monday in the 2500 block of West Edison.

Firefighters got the alarm at 10:30 p.m.

Firefighters saw flames coming through the roof when they arrived.

Fire officials said the former medical office building is known to be a hangout for transients. Firefighters conducted a search but found no one inside before knocking the fire down.

District Chief Jeremy Moore says they had been to the building a month ago and found transients using it as a shelter. He says the fire department is working with the building's owner to keep transients out.

Moore said no one was hurt.
