Judge Sets Trial Date For Bartlesville Teen In School Shooting Plot

A Bartlesville teenager will go to trial in September. Sammie Chavez is charged with planning to perform an act of violence. Authorities say he tried to recruit other students to help him shoot up the high school.

Chavez pleaded not guilty during a court appearance on May 1, 2013. A mental competency evaluation was completed, and the court found Chavez competent to stand trial.

His trial date has been set for September 9, 2013.
