Drought conditions across northeastern Oklahoma range from moderate to abnormally dry as summer starts to heat up.

New U.S. Drought Monitor data released Thursday shows an extreme drought covers much of western Oklahoma and all of the panhandle. Thanks to recent rains, most of central Oklahoma is currently not experiencing any drought conditions.

The Oklahoma Forestry Department says the only burn ban in place is in Cotton County in the southwestern part of the state.
