The City of Broken Arrow lifted a voluntary water rationing order Friday morning.

City officials said the city's water system has "recovered sufficiently" to allow residents and businesses to resume normal outdoor watering.

"We appreciate our residents and businesses assisting us through the conservation of water during the past twenty four hours, said Acting Director of Communications Norm Stephens. "We apologize for any inconvenience the citizens of Broken Arrow experienced during the repair of the broken water line."

Stephens says city pools and splash pads will open at their regularly scheduled times Friday.

Early Thursday, a 24-inch pipe broke prompting Broken Arrow to order mandatory water rationing.

That break was not Broken Arrow's first run in with water issues this summer - last month the city issued a boil order following a 36-inch water main break.
