The Tulsa women's basketball team announced its 12-game non-conference slate, which features six home contests, a possible nine contests against 2013 postseason teams and a trip to New York for the Fordham Tournament.

"We are very pleased with the schedule that we were able to put together for the upcoming season," Mossman said. "In addition to a competitive home slate, we were able to schedule regional contests with Arkansas and Kansas, which will give our fans the opportunity to travel with us. We are also looking forward to being in New York City during the Christmas break and playing such quality opponents."

Twelve of the 13 teams that TU could face during the first half of the season finished last year with double-digit wins, including seven teams that recorded 20 or more victories. Kansas and Oral Roberts made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament, Arkansas, Fordham, Harvard, Texas Southern and UALR all competed in the Women's National Invitational Tournament, Lamar participated in the Women's Basketball Invitational, and Abilene Christian competed in the Division II South Central Region Tournament.

The 2013-14 campaign will tip off at home against Texas Southern on Nov. 8. The Lady Tigers recorded 20 wins a year ago and advanced to the first round of the WNIT. This will be just the second meeting between the two teams as the Golden Hurricane earned a win over TSU during the 2008-09 season.

Tulsa will make the trip to Lamar [Texas], on Nov. 17 to take on the Cardinals, which picked up 22 wins and advanced to the quarterfinals of the WBI last season. Lamar won the only previous meeting during the 1983-84 campaign.

The Hurricane returns home for two contests, including Western Michigan on Nov. 22 and cross-town rival Oral Roberts on Nov. 26. The Broncos tallied 11 wins last year, while the Golden Eagles recorded 18 victories, won the Southland Tournament Championship and advanced to the first round of the NCAA Tournament. This will be the 37th meeting between Tulsa and ORU. The Hurricane has won two of the last three meetings.

TU will play just two home games and will make four separate road trips in the month of December. Tulsa begins the month with a trip to Saint Louis on Dec. 3, before returning home for a game against UALR on Dec. 7. The Billikens had 12 wins last year, and UALR captured 24 victories and played in the first round of the WNIT.

Tulsa will then make the short trip across the boarder to Arkansas on Dec. 10, host Abilene Christian on Dec. 14 and travel to Kansas on Dec. 22. The Razorbacks posted 20 wins and advanced to the WNIT Second Round, the Wildcats tallied 21 wins and competed in the Division II South Central Region Tournament, and the Jayhawks earned 20 wins and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament a year ago.

The Hurricane will head to New York City for the Fordham Tournament on Dec. 29-30, featuring Fordham, Harvard, UNC-Greensboro and Tulsa. The Fordham Rams recorded a program-best 26 wins and advanced to the WNIT Sweet 16 a year ago, while Harvard posted 20 wins and played in the second round of the WNIT. UNC-Greensboro registered eight wins last year. This will be the first meeting for Tulsa with any of the three opponents.

Tulsa closes out the non-conference slate on Jan. 4 against Valparaiso, a team that posted 11 wins last year.

The Conference USA schedule will be released at a later date.
