Tulsa Woman Charged With Child Abuse By Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy

For the second time in a month, a Green Country mother has been charged with child abuse by Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy.

Prosecutors say 26-year-old Tonya Nickolle Thomas, of Tulsa, needlessly subjected her young daughter to multiple unnecessary medical procedures, including a spinal tap, blood screenings, and ultrasounds.

Victoria Lee, of Broken Arrow, was charged with the same thing last month. She entered a not guilty plea in court Thursday. Her preliminary hearing is set for August 1.

Tulsa County prosecutors say they can only remember three Munchausen cases in the previous 18 years.

According to jail records, Thomas is not in police custody.
