Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin, currently in Paris for the Le Bourget Paris Airshow, announced plans for an Australian aerospace company to open a Grove location.
Ferra Engineering plans to employ 20 workers at the new site and "expects significant growth and expansion opportunities," according to a news release from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.
Ferra Engineering is an international manufacturer servicing aerospace and defense industry contracts including recent contracts with Boeing and Lockheed Martin. The company builds parts and assemblies that increase the effectiveness of weapon systems, the release states.
It has also worked on projects for Airbus, GE Aviation and Goodrich.
Ferra managing director Mark Scherrer said the Oklahoma expansion will be a central location for the company to service customers on both coasts and international markets.
"Oklahoma's competitive cost structure, business-friendly environment and strong existing aerospace supply chain made it a natural choice," he said.
