Tulsa Pedestrian Struck, Killed After Stumbling Into Traffic

A man died after being struck by a van while walking along an east Tulsa street late Wednesday.

Tulsa Police say Richard Dorsey, 51, was walking on the side of 193rd East Avenue near 21st Street just before 10:30 p.m. when he stumbled and fell into the path of the van.

The driver of the van was unable to avoid hitting Dorsey, investigators said, and he stopped and called police. 

EMSA paramedics pronounced Dorsey dead at the scene.

Police said they don't expect the driver to face any charges.
