The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is looking for some quality people who would like to become a trooper.
They have extended the deadline for recruiting until the end of this month for people between 23 and 45 years old.
The 19-week academy begins in January, and recruits are paid while in training. After graduating, they spend an additional 12 weeks with a training trooper, learning on the job.
For those who think troopers just drive on the highway, giving tickets, think again.
"We do a lot. We do everything from disaster response to chasing taillights, bomb squad, K-9 units, aircraft, scuba divers," said Captain George Brown.
The troopers also help with major disasters, like the recent Moore tornadoes.
