University of Tulsa junior pitcher Aimee Creger was named to the 2013 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division I All-America Third Team, the NFCA announced Wednesday afternoon.
Creger, a native of Yukon, Okla., became Tulsa's first two-time All-America selection. She also received third-team All-America honors as a freshman in 2011.
Creger was the 2013 Conference USA Pitcher of the Year and a first-team NFCA All-Midwest Region selection. She ended the season with a school-record 25 wins, 286 strikeouts, 26 complete games and 9.98 strikeouts per seven innings. She posted a 25-7 record with a 1.15 ERA – including a 1.00 ERA during the regular season – in 200.2 innings. Creger allowed a .176 opponent batting average, allowed only 38 runs, 33 earned runs, 123 hits, and tossed eight shutouts in 30 starts and picked up a pair of saves. Her ERA ranks fourth in the NCAA, 9.98 strikeouts-per-seven-inning average ranks 11th, and the 4.33 hits allowed per seven innings ranks 13th in the nation.
In the midst of leading the Golden Hurricane to a 42-16-1 overall record, 19-5 mark in Conference USA and a third consecutive NCAA Regional appearance, Creger broke the TU career records for win (68) and strikeouts (726). She is 68-16 with a 1.50 ERA in three seasons.
