An SUV driver led Tulsa Police on a high-speed chase late Monday from a motel parking lot on East Admiral to Tulsa International Airport, where the SUV crashed into a security fence.
Police arrested the driver, Ryan Campbell, 23, and two other people after recovering several stolen weapons, including an AR-15 rifle, in the SUV and at the motel.
The incident began when a clerk at the Rest Inn in the 7400 block of East Admiral called at about 11:30 p.m. after noticing several people not registered at the motel carrying guns in and out of a room.
When police arrived, Campbell drove off in an SUV. The chase ended on North Memorial when the SUV slammed into a security gate. Police arrested Campbell after a short foot chase involving K9 officers. EMSA took him to a hospital to be treated for several dog bites, before police took him to jail.
Tulsa Police say the SUV was reported stolen from a home in southwest Tulsa. Officers found several stolen weapons including the AR-15 rifle and a box of stolen checks inside.
Other officers searched the motel room and found more stolen weapons. They arrested Tylor Bailor, 27, and Joni Mathews, 27.
Police say they also recovered a car stolen from a home near 21st and Sheridan at the motel tied to Bailor and Mathews.
"We've recovered all the vehicles in the parking lot that were stolen and also recovered some firearms and got them off the street tonight," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Darren Bristow.
Campbell was booked into jail on complaints of eluding, hit and run, possession of a stolen vehicle and having stolen property. Bailor and Mathews were booked on complaints of possession of a stolen vehicle and having stolen property.
