An ex-convict now faces a first degree murder charge in a fatal stabbing in north Tulsa.

An ex-convict now faces a first degree murder charge in a fatal stabbing in north Tulsa.

Police say Karen Haley, 49, confessed to the murder of 58-year-old Robert Middlebrooks.

Middlebrooks was found dead near North Florence Place and East Archer Street on the afternoon of Saturday, May 11.

According to her arrest report, Haley told police she stabbed Middlebrooks following an argument.

Department of Corrections records show Haley first served time in 1993 for drug charges. She was convicted of assault with a dangerous weapon and aggravated assault and battery in 1998 and went back to prison again in 2006 for a drug conviction.

She is currently being held without bond in the Tulsa County jail.
