A Talala man was injured after losing control of his motorcycle in what investigators called a high speed wreck. John Bortner, 45, was taken by medical helicopter to a Tulsa hospital following the single-vehicle crash.

Bortner was driving a 2003 Harley Davidson northbound on Highway 169 just south of County Road EW 35 in Rogers County at 1:10 a.m Sunday. He was traveling at a high rate of speed when the motorcycle began to wobble, an OHP trooper says in a collision report.

The motorcycle left the highway to the right and overturned. Bortner, who was not wearing a helmet, is said to be stable with head and internal injuries.
