After June 4, 2013, drivers on the Will Rogers Turnpike will have to exit I-44 for fuel and food while the Vinita Service Plaza undergoes renovations.
The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority said the plaza will be closed beginning June 4th for about one year. As a result, there will be no rest stops along the turnpike between Tulsa and the Oklahoma-Missouri state line.
The turnpike will remain open to traffic.
The renovations to the service plaza will include a larger convenience store, upgraded restrooms and McDonald's and Subway restaurants. Cost of the project is $14.6 million.
