The new legal team for a 21-year-old woman sentenced last week to 25 years in prison for pushing her husband through a 25th-floor window to his death has filed notice that they plan to appeal the case.

Court records show notice was filed Wednesday with the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals on behalf of Amber Hilberling.

Hilberling's new attorney, Clark Brewster, says he became "gut sick" when he saw Hilberling sentenced in Tulsa district court. He says Hilberling had "no murderous intent" when she pushed her husband in 2011.

Messages seeking comment from the Tulsa district attorney's office were not immediately returned Wednesday afternoon.

A jury deliberated for less than three hours in March before finding Hilberling guilty and recommending the 25-year sentence, which the judge imposed last week.
