The Cherokee Nation mixed something old with something new Tuesday, building a replica cupola on top the Cherokee National Capitol building in Tahlequah.
It was an original feature of the building, but was destroyed by fire in 1928.
The addition brings the building back to how it appeared in the 1870s.
The entire capitol building is being renovated, including a new roof and eventually updated windows, doors, and a new porch.
