Monte Carlo Driver Crashes Into Tulsa Building, Takes Off

Correction: The vehicle in this story was originally identified as an Oldsmobile Cutlass, but it is a Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

The driver of an Chevrolet Monte Carlo crashed into a building at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday then ran, according to Tulsa Police. The car was lodged halfway into the stone facade.

Witnesses told police they saw a man get out of the car, grab some belongings and take off. He was apparently clutching his chest as he ran.

"Definitely some substantial damage, and we're going to see if Storey wrecker can pull the car without pulling the storage facility with it," said Sergeant Brett Bilyeu, Tulsa Police.

Firefighters established a perimeter around the building in case anything went wrong. The wrecker driver was able to get the car out with no problems.
