Injured Driver Cited For DUI Following Tulsa Highway Crash

A Tulsa man was injured early Friday when he crashed his pickup truck on Interstate 244 near 31st Street.

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol report states a 1993 Ford pickup, driven by Curtis McElyea, 30, was headed South on I-244 when it struck a concrete wall and rolled onto its side.

EMSA transported McElyea to the hospital.

Troopers said Jimmy Hickman, 64, of Tulsa, was a 2002 Dodge pickup also south on I-244 struck McElyea's pickup just before 2:30 a.m. He was not injured.

OHP said two more southbound vehicles, a 2004 Ford Mustang driven by Douglas OHara, 39, of Glenpool, and a 2000 Chevy pickup driven by Kasey Collins, 35, of Sapulpa, struck debris from the crash. Neither was injured.

The OHP report says McElyea was cited for DUI.
