A Pryor woman was killed in a crash Thursday morning due to standing water on the road, a report shows.
Troopers say it happened around 10:40 a.m., three miles south and five miles west of Adair, on a county road in Mayes County.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports the 1998 Ford Crown Victory driven by Daniel Walters, 31, drove into standing water and hydroplaned. Troopers say the car struck a culvert, a fence and a tree, before flipping twice and landing upside down.
The passenger, Brandy Linell, 28, was thrown from the car and pinned under it for nearly half an hour, troopers report.
Linell was pulled from the wreck by Pryor and Adair firefighters, but she died at the scene of the crash.
Walters was taken to a Tulsa hospital and admitted in good condition with some injuries.
The accident report states neither of them were wearing seat belts.
