Tulsa runners in Boston during the bombings are now arriving home, still shaken by what happened.
One of those runner, Jennifer Legler, was only half a mile from the finish line when the bombs went off.
With no phone, no water and no idea what happened, she began an hour-long wait trapped on the street.
"We were running, everything was going great until we hit the 25.5 mile mark," Legler said.
That's when police swarmed the area and moved blockades across the street.
"We heard all the sirens," she said. "There were tons of ambulances going by."
Spectators ran toward the runners to tell them there had been a bombing and people were dead.
"People were crying because they had no way of getting in touch with their loved ones who were probably at the finish line," Legler said.
Legler's husband was supposed to meet her about a block away from the finish line. She said she was able to use someone else's phone to let him know she was all right.
Left exhausted from the run, that's when Legler said strangers came up to help.
"People of Boston were wonderful," she said. "There were people coming out of their homes to bring sweat shirts and pitchers of water."
Legler said she does plan to return to Boston to run the marathon. Next year, she hopes to cross the finish line herself.
