The Tulsa Drillers picked up their second-consecutive victory on Friday night and they did in thrilling fashion in front of the home crowd.
Tulsa left fielder Kyle Parker smacked a sharp fly-ball double into center field in the bottom of the ninth inning to send Cristhian Adames across the plate for a 2-1 walk-off victory against San Antonio at ONEOK Field.
The hit was Parker's second of the game in a defensive slugfest that featured just six hits for both teams.
San Antonio got on the board first with a solo home run from Reymond Fuentes in the top of the first inning but that would be the end of the scoring for the Missions on the night, as the Drillers got an overall outstanding performance from its trio of pitchers.
Chad Bettis earned the start and went 5.1 innings on the mound, allowing four hits and striking out six to go with one run allowed. Parker Frazier went 2.2 innings in relief without allowing a hit before right hander Michael Solbach picked up the win to close out the ninth inning.
Prior to Parker's walkoff double, the Drillers' only other run came in the bottom of the eighth when Joey Wong hit a sacrifice bunt to squeeze in Delta Cleary from third to knot the game up at 1-1.
With the win, Tulsa improved to 3-5 on the season and 2-0 at ONEOK. The teams wrap up their three-game series at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday.
