A move to become more energy efficient is paying off for Tulsa's Expo Square. PSO gave the fair board a check for more than $97,000 Friday.
It's part of a program to give rebates to businesses and homeowners who make energy improvements.
The fairgrounds did replace all of its lighting, which is one way PSO says you can see a big difference, and not just in your bill.
"Generally speaking, especially with lighting improvements, you get better quality light, so not only are they going to save energy, but when you walk into those barns at the QuikTrip Center and you see how beautifully lit those spaces are, it really makes it more attractive," said PSO Energy Efficiency Coordinator Kerry Rowland.
Expo Square cut its energy usage by about 50 percent with their new lights.
