Junior guard Mikey Manghum has earned another academic honor, earning a spot on the Southland Conference All-Academic First Team.

Having been named to the Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, Manghum was an automatic selection into the group put together by the Southland, and was the only one to earn the automatic spot.

Manghum has a 3.94 GPA in finance, easily the highest GPA of the 10 student-athletes selected, and was a key contributor on the court as well, playing in 34 of the team's 35 games, with seven starts. He was third on the team in 3-pointers made and second in 3-point percentage and also had one of the best assist/turnover ratios on the team.

Northwestern State's Gary Stewart, who is not a two-time all-academic selection, was named the student-athlete of the year.
