Fire Damages Poteau Restaurant

A restaurant on the city limits of Poteau was damaged by fire Sunday evening. Poteau Fire officials say they got call at about 7:15 p.m. at the Arena Steakhouse, which is located in a large metal building on Arnall Road.

Officials asked for assistance from several area fire departments to help shuttle water to the scene because there was no fire hydrants nearby.

Fire officials believe the fire started in the kitchen area.

The restaurant was closed at the time. There were no reports of any injuries.

The state Fire Marshal's Office is investigating, but Poteau Fire officials believe the cause was accidental.
