Driver Arrested Following Crash Behind Tulsa Bar

Tulsa Police say emergency personnel found the 37-year-old driver of an SUV passed out at the wheel following a crash behind a bar near 11th and Harvard early Tuesday.

Police got the call just before 12:30 a.m. to a crash behind the Buccaneer Bar. 

Officers believe Nicholas Hingey drove his Toyota SUV through a fence and hit a tree.  Jail records show Hingey reportedly smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and "could not stand without falling over."

Patrons from the bar told officers the driver had not come into the bar prior to the crash.

Police arrested Hingey on a complaint of DUI after he declined to take a field sobriety test and booked him into the Tulsa County jail.
