Sand Springs Semi Driver Killed In Crash With Another Semi

A driver of a semi truck is dead after it collided with another semi that failed to stop at a stop sign, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

It happened shortly after 2 p.m. Friday, on State Highway 20 at Country Road 5905, in Osage County.

According to the trooper's collision report, a Sand Springs man, 39-year-old David Fisher, died at the scene. Fisher was pinned for about two hours, before being pulled out by Shidler Fire Department, the report said.

Troopers said the semi that failed to stop at the stop sign was driven by Nathan Anthony Halom, 26, of Cleveland. Two other men, David Lewis, 20, and Jimmie Lewis, 22, both of Sand Springs, were passengers.

Halom and both of his passengers were taken by EMSA to a Tulsa hospital and reportedly are stable.

Fisher was wearing a seat belt, but no one in the other truck was wearing one, according to the report.

The report also said Halom's condition at the time of the crash is under investigation.
