65,000-Pound Upright MRI Delivered To Tulsa's Advance Imaging

A pretty large delivery will mean a giant step forward for high tech healthcare in this part of the state.

A crane was used to deliver a 65,000-pound upright MRI to Advance Imaging of Tulsa, Thursday.

It's the first ever like it in Eastern Oklahoma.

They say this new technology will make all the difference in patient care, by making exams more comfortable.

"The neatest thing about this machine is, because of its design, patients actually are able to watch TV now, while they have their scan. Whether they lay on their back, stand, or whatever, there are two 55-inch flat screens in there," said Bob Fair, of Advance Imaging.

Fair said the new upright MRI will be especially helpful with children and folks with claustrophobia.

It should be operational in May.
