A large crowd is hearing the Owasso City Council discuss its denial of three new development projects.
The council on Tuesday turned down the final plat for the Maple Glen III subdivision and two commercial projects, after one councilor raised questions about a potential financial conflict of interest between the city manager and a developer.
The council is discussing the issues in its meeting but does not have a reconsideration of the vote on its agenda.
The city attorney has told the council the denial cannot be reconsidered before May 1; and denying it now for reasons other than design issues could prompt the developer to sue the city.
The two commercial projects were a Super 8 hotel at 76st Street North and 117th East Avenue and the Small Animal Hospital at 86th Street North and 125th East Avenue.
The special meeting of the council was called on Thursday.
