Tulsa police have recovered a missing vehicle connected to a murder, but they still are looking for a man they believe may have information about the case.

Police said Robert Sampson’s decomposed body was discovered in a home in the 4500 block of West Fifth Street on March 14 and his sport utility vehicle missing.

On Thursday morning, TPD Sgt. Dave Walker said Sampson's missing midnight blue 1998 Ford Explorer was found in the 500 block of South  Guthrie. Walker said the TPD forensic lab is processing the vehicle for evidence and officials canvassed the area.

Detectives are trying to locate Edward Vanwoudenberg, 57, who has been seen in the west Tulsa and Oakhurst area. He often stays in transient camps along the Arkansas River.

Vanwoudenberg is an American Indian male, 6-foot tall and weighs about 185 pounds. He has an outstanding municipal misdemeanor warrant.

Anyone with information about Vanwoudenberg or the SUV is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS or text 918TIP to "Crimes."
