Conference USA Basketball Tournament Begins In Tulsa

The Conference USA Basketball tournament begins Wednesday at the BOK Center and Convention Center in downtown Tulsa.

The city will be hosting thousands of fans and 23 basketball teams. Eleven men's and 12 women's teams are vying for an automatic berth in the NCAA basketball tournament.

Most of the teams arrived Tuesday and have been practicing at venues around Tulsa.

The women's portion of the tournament gets underway Wednesday.

The University of Tulsa women's team will tip off at 5 p.m. against Rice at the Convention Center.

The TU men's basketball team will have to wait until Thursday evening to play against East Carolina.

The TU men's basketball team has not been to the NCAA tournament since 2003 and the women haven't been in the Big Dance since 2006.

The championship game for both the men and women is Saturday at the BOK Center.
