President Signs Expansion Of Violence Against Women Act

President Barack Obama signed into law an expansion of the Violence Against Women Act. Two members of the Muscogee Creek Nation were in Washington for the signing ceremony.

The President signed a bill Thursday afternoon ensuring added protection for Native American women who are victims of domestic abuse.

President Barack Obama signed into law an expansion of the Violence Against Women Act.

Two members of the Muscogee Creek Nation were in Washington for the signing ceremony.

These new changes give Indian Nations the power to hold non-tribal members accountable for domestic abuse against Native American women.
