Areas to the north of Tulsa started seeing snow Monday night, and with a blizzard warning in effect, they were preparing for it to get worse.
Blowing snow started to fall around 8:40 Monday night in Bartlesville, and the city said it was ready for whatever the storm had in store.
Lowe's store managers said there was a steady flow of people, trying to stock up on winter weather gear.
"It's mostly been customers buying generators, ice melt, stuff like that, snow shovels—getting ready for the winter," said assistant manager Josh Mullin.

"I'm buying a gasoline can. I'm going to have gasoline in storage, but I'll put it in the car if I don't use it for this purpose, so it's kind of just a precaution ," said Bartlesville resident Eugene Spinler.
And residents weren't the only ones preparing. City crews geared up for what could be a long night.
"We key usually off what the police department tells us. If our staff's already gone home, we'll use them to call us out. They'll monitor the situation on the bridges and overpasses. Once they start seeing a problem develop, then they'll call us and we'll get our people out," said Public Works Director Keith Henry.
If you do have to travel near Bartlesville Monday night, you are advised to take it slow. Also, the city wants to remind everybody to keep a good following distance behind their salt and sand trucks, because they will be out all through the night and Tuesday morning.
