Tulsa Golfer Matt Mabrey Named C-USA Golfer Of The Week

University of Tulsa sophomore golfer Matt Mabrey was named the Conference USA Golf Athlete of the Week.

Mabrey, from Little Rock, Arkansas, finished in fifth place in a field of 83 golfers at Tulsa's first tournament of the spring season, the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational, earlier this week. Mabrey carded rounds of 74-70-69 for an even-par 213 total at the par-71 Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio, Texas.

Mabrey's fifth-place finish improved upon his 54th place finish at last year's Oak Hills Invitational and ties for the second-best finish of his career and best performance of the 2012-13 season.

The C-USA weekly honor is the first of the season for Mabrey and the second of his career.
