A motorcyclist was rushed to a Tulsa hospital after crashing his bike trying to run from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol early Sunday evening.
The 31-year-old man was speeding northbound on U.S. Highway 169 just before 5 p.m. when a trooper initiated a traffic stop, OHP said.
"One of our troopers [tried to] stop him for speeding 80 in a 65 (mph zone), and he just took off," Trooper Tuttle said.
OHP said the whole chase only lasted about 30 seconds before the man crashed his bike into the back of a 2004 Chevrolet truck. Neither the driver, Jacob Keeler, 20, of Bartlesville, nor his passengers, Tana Dykes, 19, of Owasso, and Shalen Bortner, 22, of Talala, were injured.
The motorcyclist was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he is said to be stable with trunk, arm and leg injuries.
The identity of the man on the motorcycle has not been released. Troopers cited pending criminal charges as the reason.
