Wright's Career-High Leads Tulsa Past UTEP

It was a hard-fought win for Tim Peete and the Golden Hurricane Saturday night.

Freshman D'Andre Wright scored a career-high 25 points off the bench to lead the Tulsa Golden Hurricane to a big road win over UTEP Saturday night.

Wright also grabbed a team-high eight rebounds while shooting 9-12 in his 21 minutes of play. Rashad Ray added 12 points and six assists off the TU bench, as the Golden Hurricane's second unit outscored its starters 44-30.

Kauri Black scored 13 points and was the only TU (13-11, 5-5) starter to reach double-figures. Scottie Haralson added nine points and seven boards for Tulsa.

UTEP (13-9, 6-3) was led by Konner Tucker's 17 points while McKenzie Moore chipped in 14 points and six rebounds off the Miners' bench. Cedrick Lang added eight points and 15 rebounds for UTEP.

The Golden Hurricane shot 44.6 percent from the floor and 46.2 percent from 3-point range. UTEP struggled to score, shooting just 37 percent from the field and 32 percent from downtown.

TU has a week off before hosting Houston on Saturday, Feb. 16.
