A Claremore man is dead after a crash in Rogers County Wednesday evening.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the crash occurred at 8:22 p.m. at state Highway 20 and North-South 420 road.

Troopers say Charlie Bird, 67, was driving a 2011 Chevy Malibu when he turned left onto Highway 20 into the path of a westbound 2012 Dodge Durango.

The impact caused the Malibu to roll over several times pinning Bird for about an hour.

The OHP says the driver of the Durango was Misty Kay Edwards-Matheso, 40, of Claremore. Her passenger was her 12-year-old daughter, Beverlee Caraway.

All three were taken to a Claremore hospital. Bird was pronounced dead at the hospital, Edwards-Matheso and Caraway were treated and released.

Troopers say everyone involved in the crash was wearing seat belts.

Will Rogers Downs-Cherokee Casino is located on the county road.
