Monday Morning Update

We're tracking a few chances for showers and thunderstorms across the state over the next 5 to 7 days.  We have a chance for light showers today across state, including NE OK this morning, with a stronger system arriving by the end of the week or this weekend. 

The main upper air flow will continue to be progressive.  This will bring a fast moving wave near the area today along with a surface boundary across the state today with winds shifting from the south to the north this afternoon.  Temps will be around 60 for the highs with mostly cloudy conditions until later this afternoon and some light showers across the region this morning.  A surface boundary will clear the Tulsa area around the noon hour and should take most of the precip across the southeastern part of the state during this afternoon.  RAP model data indicates the clouds should also clear out this afternoon.  We'll see how that works out later today.  

After this wave passes the area, we'll be in good shape until about Thursday when a system may bring some showers or storms across the state.  The better chance may arrive this weekend including Saturday night through Sunday with a shot of thunderstorms, including the chance for a few strong to severe storms.  We see no major cold air intrusions during the next 7 days even though temps will cool down Monday and Tuesday of next week.  

The high in Tulsa yesterday was 57 recorded at 3:56pm.

The normal daily average high is 50 with a low of 29.

Our daily record high is 81 recorded on this date in 2008 and the low of -11 from 1996.
