Tulsa Police Believe Stuck Accelerator May Have Led To Crash

A driver is a Tulsa hospital Friday morning after she drove onto U.S. Highway 169 from 41st Street, continuing across four lanes before hitting a concrete center median.

The driver hit her head and was knocked unconscious, according to on scene reports.

Tulsa Police say it appears the floor mat on the driver's side may have bunched up under the accelerator, causing the car to speed up and preventing the woman from braking.

EMSA took the woman to the hospital. There is no word on her condition, but police say she is expected to be okay.

The police officer investigating the crash of the Toyota Corolla reported the driver was not wearing her seat belt when she crashed.
